CHANGE

Is it really possible to create the profound, powerful and permanent changes
that you want in your life?
that you want in your life?
What would it take to go from a lethargic, uninspired, overweight middle-aged has been, TV addicted zombie couch potato who hasn't seen an exercise bike in over 20 years, to the healthy, dynamic, powerful person that is presently trapped inside?
Who in their right mind would ever be so critical and hard on themselves? I couldn’t possibly be talking to you, right?
Unless we are great-enlightened beings, we all do this. We look in the mirror, get on the scale or try on a new outfit and we assess, judge, critique, compare, and argue with the status quo that we find ourselves settling for.
We know that we have what it takes to do better and we do know better, but until the suffering is great enough, or the inspiration powerful enough, nothing, absolutely nothing about our life, or ourselves, gets changed.
Why?
Do you know what’s holding you back from making the changes you say you want to make? A conversation is always going on behind the scenes in the world of your intention and thought. At any given time, your world and mine is a tapestry comprised of thoughts, feelings, experiences, relationships, emotions, and all the events in our lives that have happened up until this point.
Whether we want to face it or not, we’ve been programmed, brainwashed and hacked without ever even realizing it.
Instead of accepting what we learned and lived with as children, what if we instead stretched the limits of what we’ve been taught to think is actually possible? What if we chose to change those perceived limitations? If we were to start questioning everything that we've presumed to be true up until now, what would happen?
What if we were to take the time to ask, “Just how much have I judged to be impossible or negative in my life? What beliefs do I hold that are responsible for triggering my feelings of inadequacy? From where do these feelings of fear within me originate?”
I know that as children, many of us were carefully taught to believe some things and fear other things. As a result, we lived in fear for much of our lives. Without a serious intervention, we could spend a lifetime continuing to judge ourselves and everyone else.
I know that for too many years I, too, personally lived the lie of believing what I was taught as a child—that I was bad or sinful, not enough, and unworthy. Given that scenario, how could I be expected to follow my heart or do what creates joy?
It isn’t just our early childhood training either. We give our power away to all the external circumstances and input, like TV commercials, newspapers, big drug companies, our peers, and the cultural and societal beliefs of how we were raised. And so it goes on and on. We keep giving our power away over and over again to the external messages that dominate our culture.
I would like to challenge you to begin asking powerful questions about what you believe and why. Ask those questions about everything. Nothing is sacred.
Ask yourself, why do I continue to believe this? Is it cultural or is it social conditioning? Does it serve me to continue to believe what I was taught as a child? What if I trusted my internal guidance instead? What if instead of fear, I was to see my life through the lens of joy and love?
Yes, seeing life from the inside out changes everything.
What if I am not the shattered, fragmented, broken person that I think I am? What if I’m actually the greatest wholeness? What if this brokenness is an illusion, the ‘spell of duality’ and a sleep-induced nightmare?
Could you and I perhaps become lucid in that dream and make powerful changes? As long as we are victims to our circumstances and not the cause of our world, we have no power to change our world. Become lucid in the dream and change that worldview, and your world will change too.
We never really become disconnected from love, joy, and peace. We are that already. We just temporarily lose sight of it and get caught up in the illusion of separation. We simply don't feel the sense of peace and joy that comes from our source, but this source is always there. Happiness and sadness go hand-in-hand, like light and dark, yin and yang. The sense of separation is simply part of the illusion of duality that makes it difficult to see oneness.
Did you ever wake up feeling so happy that the world around you looked more beautiful than ever before? You did that. Something inside of you changed and your world changed with it.
Joy isn't something to be searched after. Joy is the answer.
Blessings,
